Solar farm companies in the UK
3,387 companies and organisations run or plan solar farms in the UK: 10,998 MW running and 29,724 MW consented or being built.
Ranked by the megawatts each company runs and has consented, from public planning records. A company’s projects count together under the name it files them in.
142 solar farms were consented in the three months to 8 July 2026.
A consent is the start of the build. Stanfell turns each one into a lead for the contractors and suppliers who build them, with the dates and how to reach the developer.

Who is about to build?
The size of a portfolio says who is big today. A new consent or a grid connection offer says who is about to spend, and Stanfell turns those into leads with the dates and how to reach the company.

Questions
What counts as a solar farm here?
A solar farm of 150 kW or more in the UK that has been through planning. Smaller rooftop and home systems are not included.
What do running, consented and in planning mean?
Running is built and generating. Consented has planning permission or is being built. In planning has an application waiting for a decision. A company is ranked by what it runs and has consented together.
Why is a company I know missing or listed twice?
Projects are often held by a company set up for one site, or filed under a partner's name, so a group can appear under several names, and a project sold on can stay under its first owner's name for a while.
