How this page counts

What is counted
An application to raise the number of vehicles an operator may run, or to add an operating centre with more vehicles, at an operator we can match to a registered company.
What is left out
Surrenders, transfers, applications that do not add vehicles, and anything we cannot tie to a company with confidence.

Why it matters to a supplier

  • A fleet growing from twelve to sixteen lorries needs drivers, finance, tyres, tracking and a yard that can take them, and it needs them within weeks of the decision.
  • The application comes before the purchase. By the time new vehicles are on the road, the suppliers have already been chosen.
  • Counted by region, applications show where operators are betting on more work: new distribution contracts, new sites, new customers.

Questions

Does this include every haulier in the UK?
Every operator that applies to grow in Great Britain, each week. Operators that stay the same size do not appear, because nothing about them has changed.
Why are the company names delayed?
Because in the first month an application is a sales lead, and that is what Stanfell subscribers pay for. After thirty days it is a matter of record, and the name appears here.
