What is counted
A ground-mounted solar project that gained approval, a firm connection date, or both.
What is left out
Rooftop systems, projects still in planning, and schemes without a stated capacity.

Why it matters to a supplier

  • Construction usually starts within a year of approval and a connection date being in place, and the EPC, the modules and the site works are all bought in that year.
  • Regional totals show where land, grid capacity and planning are lining up, which changes faster than most people expect.
  • Many sites are co-located with storage, and the same owner is often buying for both.

Does this cover rooftop and commercial solar?
No. Rooftop systems do not leave the kind of dated public record this engine reads. It covers ground-mounted projects large enough to need approval as a generating station.
How often is it updated?
Every week, after the engine's weekly run. Monthly archives are fixed once the month has closed.
