Asset finance leads, in the week the fleet is approved.
A haulier that has just been cleared to run fourteen more vehicles has weeks, not months, to find them and fund them. Whoever speaks to that operator first usually writes the deal, and by the time the trucks are on a forecourt the finance conversation has already happened.
What each entry gives you
- The operator, the count it held before and the count it is now allowed to run, so you can size the facility before you call.
- Whether anyone already has a charge registered against the company, which tells you whether you are opening a relationship or displacing one.
- What the last accounts say about cash and equity, so you know if this is a deposit-and-term deal or a full hire purchase.
- Whether the same company has moved on anything else recently, which usually means a depot or a contract behind the growth.
The question for the first call
Is the fleet bought or leased, and is the funding already arranged?
Most brokers wait for the dealer to introduce the deal, and pay for it in commission share. A few buy a register feed and read it themselves, which is a job for someone.
